Wait 2 Measurements for DI Procedures

A diagnostic imaging waitlist entry should be opened, updated or closed within two business days of a clinically relevant event such as requisition receipt, appointment scheduling or report verification.

Wait 2 is the length of time a patient waited for a scan, it is measured:

From the Order Received Date and Time, the date and time the DI facility received the request to book an MRI and/or CT scan for the patient
To the Actual Service Start Date and Time, the date the procedure was performed, minus any Dates Affecting Readiness to Treat (patient delays)

Variance Measurement

A waitlist entry variance is the positive or negative difference between the current wait time of a patient and the defined provincial access target based on assigned priority level

Note: The MRI/CT variance calculation includes days, hours and minutes
