WTIS Profile Descriptions

Your user profile determines what you will see and have access to in the WTIS. For example, if you are responsible for entering waitlist entries for a single clinician or a specific site, you will only have rights to that clinician’s/site’s wait time details. See user profile descriptions below.

Note: End users should reach out to their facility's Local Registration Authority (LRA) if their profile access is incorrect or requires an update.

Surgery and DI User Profiles

Surgery Hospital Coordinator
  • Access to ALL surgical entries for the location/site(s) specified for the individual, including the ability to create, view, and update patient data, wait list entries, and priority assessments
  • Generate reports

  • Data Quality Management
Surgery Hospital Coordinator (Read Only)
  • Access to VIEW ALL surgical entries and patient data for the location/site(s) specified for the individual

Surgery Surgeon & Hospital Coordinator
  • Same access as a surgeon (user) plus the ability to access ALL surgical entries for the location/site(s) specified for the clinician

  • Edit Closed Waitlist Entry functionality
  • Data Quality Management

Note: When selecting this profile, it is necessary to specify the procedure access required as a surgeon.

Surgery Surgeon & Hospital Coordinator (Read Only)
  • The same access as a surgeon (user) plus the ability to VIEW ALL surgical entries for the location/site(s) specified for the clinician
  • Generate reports
  • Print Priority Assessments
  • Message Failure Management (MFM)
Note: When selecting this profile, it is necessary to specify the procedure access required as a surgeon.
Surgery Surgeon Non-User
  • For clinicians who do not wish (at this time) to have personal access to the WTIS application and instead expects that their staff members (Surgeon’s Staff) will use the WTIS on their behalf
  • A Surgeon must be requested/registered in the system prior to the Surgeon’s Staff registration being submitted
Note: A surgeon (non-user) will NOT be provided with credentials (i.e., username and password).
Surgery Surgeon Non-User (Read Only)
  • For clinicians who do not wish (at this time) to have personal access to the WTIS application and instead expects that their staff members (Surgeon’s Staff) will use the WTIS on their behalf
  • A Surgeon must be registered or a request submitted in the WTIS to be able to associate a Surgeon’s Staff to them. Surgeon’s Staff gaining access to a Surgeon Non-User (Read Only) profile, will only be able to generate reports and print priority assessments for that surgeon.
Note: A surgeon non-user will NOT be provided with credentials (i.e., username and password).
Surgery Surgeon User For clinicians who do wish to have personal access to the WTIS application to create, view, and update patient data, waitlist entries, and priority assessments.

This profile also provides clinicians with the ability to:

  • Generate reports
  • Print Priority Assessments
Surgery Surgeon User (Read Only)

For clinicians who do wish to have personal access to the WTIS application to VIEW patient data, waitlist entries, and priority assessments.

This profile also provides clinicians with the ability to:

  • Generate reports
  • Print Priority Assessments
Surgery Surgeon's Staff For clinician staff members who require access to create, view, and update patient data, waitlist entries, and priority assessments on behalf of the clinician(s) they support. It should be Noted that Surgeons’ Staff ‘inherit’ all sites and procedures associated with their supported clinician(s), so you do not need to specify these during registration.


This profile also provides the users with the ability to:

  • Generate reports
  • Print Priority Assessments
Surgery Surgeon's Staff

(Read Only)

For clinician staff members who require access to view, and update patient data, waitlist entries, and priority assessments on behalf of the clinician(s) they support. It should be Noted that Surgeons’ Staff ‘inherit’ all sites and procedures associated with their supported clinician(s), so you do not need to specify these during registration.

  • Message Failure Management (MFM)

All (Surgery and DI) Hospital Coordinator (Read Only) For individuals requiring access to VIEW ALL surgical and MRI/CT entries and patient data for the location/site(s) specified for the individual.

  • Message Failure Management (MFM)
Surgery or All (Surgery and DI) Surgeon's Staff & Hospital Coordinator Provides the same access as a Surgeon’s Staff plus the ability to access ALL surgical and MRI/CT entries for the location/site(s) specified for the user.

 

This profile also provides the users with the ability to:

  • Message Failure Management (MFM)

DI Hospital Coordinator For individuals requiring access to ALL MRI/CT entries for the location/site(s) specified for the individual, including the ability to create, view, and update patient data, wait list entries, and priority assessments.

  • Manage Operating Hours

DI Hospital Coordinator (Read Only) For individuals requiring access to VIEW ALL MRI/CT entries and patient data for the location/site(s) specified for the individual.

Additional WTIS Profiles

Important: The WTIS profiles listed below cannot be set up via the WTIS User Registration tool, instead forms must submitted, see details below.

Surgery, DI or ALC Name varies (MPM environment only)

Provides users access to the WTIS Manage Procedure Maps environment for the purposes of testing only.

Note: Access to the MPM Tool is not granted.

Surgery and DI Name varies (MPM environment + tool) Provides users access to the MPM functionality enabling them to:
  • Indicate what WTIS procedures (Surgery and DI ) are reported to the WTIS
  • Map hospital procedures to appropriate WTIS Procedure Codes

Important: Access to the MPM tool is granted when the:

  1. User has attended an MPM session. See ATC Information Site's call calendar for training dates.
  2. Facility LRA completes & submits the WTIS MPM Registration Request form (on the ATC Information Site).
    Note: These tools are found on the ATC Information Site, access is limited to facility resources (i.e. WTIS coordinators, LRAs) supporting Ontario Health programs. To request access contact Ontario Health.

  3. Ontario Health processes request.
ALC, DI and Surgery User Registration Gives Local Registration Authorities access to the WTIS User Registration feature which enables them  to manage WTIS user access (i.e. submit, update, revoke, suspend, reinstate)
