Viewing Interface Message Details

Message details can be viewed through the Interface Message View screen.

To view interface message details:

  1. Enter the search criteria and click Search 
  2. Click on the Interface Message ID number to view message details

The Interface Message View screen displays.

The Interface Message View displays the following information:

Type

Description

Interface Message ID

Displays the unique identifier for the message.

Interface Message Date & Time

Displays the date and time the message was received by the WTIS.

Interface Message Sender Site

Displays the name of the facility sending the message.

Interface Message Type

Identifies the HL7 message type.

Interface Message Status

Displays the message status, values include: Success, Error, and In-Process.  

Interface Error (table)

Displays the Error Message Code, Source Description and Error Description for all errors associated with that message.

Workflow Information

Used to track the status and resolution of failed messages to identify when they have been resolved.

Message Information Details

Includes the entire patient and waitlist information recorded for the message.  

This information is included in the interface message listing for reference purposes only and cannot be altered from the interface message view. Patient and waitlist information is populated for both success and error messages if this information is provided and is extractable from the interface message.

Note: The Message Information Details section is automatically expanded when the interface message view is displayed.

TIP: For Surgery and DI, the Waitlist Entry details displays the fields common to both types of Waitlist Entry then it displays the fields specific to Surgery or the ones specific to DI (based on what it identified the Waitlist Entry as). The non-applicable section is collapsed.

Message Information (Raw)

Provides interface message details. The message text is provided in the HL7 format that the message was sent in. This information can be used to investigate the cause of the message failure as it pertains to the WTIS business rules.

Message Information Response (Raw)

Provides interface message details for messages that have failed HL7 validation. The message text appears as it did in the HL7 message.

  1. Click on the Expand Section arrows to view hidden information in a message
  2. Click the Previous or Next links to navigate to the previous and next open interface message

The information shown below is used to investigate the cause of the message failure:

Field

Description

Interface Message Type

The message type field includes the message type code which helps you to identify the type of task this message represents.

The message types will display in the contents of the Interface Message Type field, as follows:

  • Surgery and DI message type values:
  • SIU^S12 – Open message for new appointment booking
  • SIU^S13 – Update message for rescheduling information
  • SIU^S14 – Update message to update Wait 1 and Wait 2 information
  • SIU^S15 – Cancel message and cancellation reason
  • ORU^R01 – Close message
  • ALC message type values:
  • ADT^A03 – Close message
  • ORM^O01 – Open or update message

Interface Message Status

Indicates when a message has passed or failed validation:

  • An Error status indicates the message has failed validation.
  • A Success status indicates that the message has passed validation.

Error Message Code

The unique identifier for the error type.

Source Description

Provides a brief error description.

Friendly Message

Provides additional error details to aid in troubleshooting.
