A repository of triage data has been established by CCO. As the eCTAS system is intended to support clinical processes and decision-making, eCTAS data is not subject to ATC data quality and compliance requirements. Informational indicators were developed to monitor eCTAS volumes against NACRS volumes in order to better understand how the system is being used at different sites, and identify trends and potential challenges with using the tool.
Indicator: Total Volume Comparison |
Threshold |
% Variance in eCTAS volumes compared against ER - NACRS L1 submitted volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: 10% Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
% Variance in eCTAS CTAS 1 volume compared against Level 1ER-NACRS submitted CTAS 1 volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: Informational Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
% Variance in eCTAS CTAS 2 volumes compared against Level 1ER-NACRS submitted CTAS 2 volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: 10% Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
% Variance in eCTAS CTAS 3 volumes compared against Level 1ER-NACRS submitted CTAS 3 volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: 10% Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
% Variance in eCTAS CTAS 4 volumes compared against Level 1ER-NACRS submitted CTAS 4 volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: 10% Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
% Variance in eCTAS CTAS 5 volumes compared against Level 1ER-NACRS submitted CTAS 5 volumes |
Below NACRS volumes: 10% Above NACRS volumes: 5% |
Indicators will be included within existing monthly ER Final Data Quality Reports under the eCTAS Informational Indicator tab. The tab will be greyed out for sites that are not yet live. Reports will be posted on the ATC Information Site (see the PDF document titled ER Data Quality and Compliance Calendar for the current year on the ATC Information Site for details). Indicators will be reviewed on a quarterly basis to monitor data and identify trends.
Ad hoc site follow-up will be determined on a case-by-case basis, in consultation with eCTAS business, clinical and technical SMEs. Ontario Health will connect with both the eCTAS and ERNI Coordinators to review data as required. There will be no follow-up related to data from the first three months post go-live.
