Transfer of Accountability (ToA) Queue

You can transfer accountability for a patient (i.e., discharge from triage) directly from eCTAS. This will remove the patient from the Pretriaged and/or Triaged Patients Queues. Once a patient is indicated as TOA, they will appear on the ToA Queue.

Important: The patient's record will remain in this queue for 6 hours.

Note: Not all facilities will use the TOA feature in eCTAS, some Complex hospitals may be configured to initiate the TOA action from their Hospital Information System. Check with your eCTAS Resource to confirm how Transfer of Accountability will be handled.

TOA Queue Columns

Column

Description

CTAS

Displays the CTAS score at the time of TOA.

TOA

Displays the time of TOA.

Left?

Indicates if a patient left without being seen.

Care

Displays appropriate icons or text to indicate care location and/or instructions entered by the nurse. Hovering over care location icons will display any care instruction text that was entered.

Column Sorting

The columns in each Queue (Pretriaged, Triaged and TOA) can be sorted to aid in finding patient information.
